Today in India it is estimated that there are a part of India’s massive reserve of ragpickers-their numbers are estimated between 1.5 million to 4 million; Wings Foundation closely worked with unrecognized women groups who worked as scrap and garbage pickers of Ahmedabad. Wings foundation provides health and hygiene related awareness to the groups.
RTI stands for Right to Information. Right to Information Act 2005 mandates timely response to citizen requests for government information. Right to Information also empowers citizens to official inspect any Government work or to take the sample of material used in any work. For the awareness and capacity building, Wings foundation counducted various focus group discussions and awareness programmes in the different villages of Surendranagar and Kutch district of Gujarat.
There are several state and central governmental schemes for challenged people in India. Wings foundation provided hands on training to physically challenged people for the betterment of their livelihood. Under the state government’s scope programme wings foundation provided skill upgradation trainings for English language and computer. Wings foundation also conducted awareness programs for other health related issues like, TB, AIDS etc.
Under this training center Wings foundation took opportunity to facilitate guidance and support to the unemployed youth of different districts of Gujarat. Wings foundation provided guidance to youth in the field of education, competitive exams, Government and non-governmental jobs.
Wings foundation works for the betterment of different unprivileged people living in the society. Wings foundation not only work but also successfully implement various governmental schemes in different parts of Gujarat.
Wings foundation works in health field and specially for women and children health. With the collaboration of ICDS wings foundation successfully implemented various programmes for promotion of women and children health.
